Rustdesk

The program we use for remote support is Rustdesk, a free and open-source tool to allow remote view and control of a computer.

Providing the ID of your computer

Please provide the ID of your computer to the support technician.

Accepting a connection

After providing the ID of your computer, the technician will connect. Please click the Accept button to allow the connection.

Permissions for Mac

Mac computers running MacOS 10 - Catalina or newer require additional permissions to allow Rustdesk to see and control the computer.

Allowing Rustdesk to see the screen

Navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Screen & System Audio Recording
Unlock the padlock on the bottom left to allow changes, then click the plus icon and select Rustdesk.
Enable to toggle next to Rustdesk
Rustdesk should now be allowed to view the screen

Allowing Rustdesk to control the keyboard & mouse

Navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Accessibility
Unlock the padlock on the bottom left to allow changes, then click the plus icon and select Rustdesk.
Enable to toggle next to Rustdesk
Rustdesk should now be allowed to control the computer
