Rustdesk



The program we use for remote support is Rustdesk, a free and open-source tool to allow remote view and control of a computer.



Providing the ID of your computer


Please provide the ID of your computer to the support technician.

Accepting a connection


After providing the ID of your computer, the technician will connect. Please click the Accept button to allow the connection.

Permissions for Mac



Mac computers running MacOS 10 - Catalina or newer require additional permissions to allow Rustdesk to see and control the computer.



Allowing Rustdesk to see the screen


  • Navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Screen & System Audio Recording
  • Unlock the padlock on the bottom left to allow changes, then click the plus icon and select Rustdesk.
  • Enable to toggle next to Rustdesk
  • Rustdesk should now be allowed to view the screen

Allowing Rustdesk to control the keyboard & mouse


  • Navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Accessibility
  • Unlock the padlock on the bottom left to allow changes, then click the plus icon and select Rustdesk.
  • Enable to toggle next to Rustdesk
  • Rustdesk should now be allowed to control the computer
